Job Description

Job title:Assistant Head of Secondary - IBDP

Job purpose: With the Head Teacher and other Assistant Heads, lead and effective, high- achieving, safe and thriving Secondary School in line with the school’s ethos and the vision and mission of Nord Anglia Education
Report to: Co-Principals

To offer leadership, inspiration and guidance to staff, students and parents in the Secondary School with regards to the IBDP programme.

The person appointed will:
- Inspire trust and confidence in parents, students and colleagues;
- Build team commitment with colleagues and engage and motivate pupils;
- Demonstrate analytical thinking;
- Improve the quality of students' learning;
- Lead school improvement/development planning and promote the learning priorities for the IBDP;
- Develop and monitor the curriculum, assessment and student tracking and reporting process to advance students learning and enhance professional practice in line with the school's aspirations and priorities;
- Work with the IBDP teachers to maximise student attainment;
- Promote the wider aspirations and values of the school.

Requirements

  • Able to adapt quickly to our fast-paced international, multilingual environment, you will bring a degree, a recognized teaching qualification and applicable teaching experience. Committed and creative, you will be reflective on your own teaching and student outcomes, seeking out and implementing new ideas and innovative practice to raise achievement.
  • Keen to collaborate and share your specialist expertise, you will be a fitting ambassador for the school.  You will communicate with confidence across diverse audiences and situations, using your expertise to build strong relationships with parents and students.
  • You will also be able to meet visa-related restrictions of living and working in China.
