The school is an American high school with a fully American curriculum, based on Common Core Standards, 21st Century Learning Standards, and Next Generation Science Standards. All of students graduate with only an American diploma, and 100% of our graduates in previous years are now studying overseas in the US, UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and South Korea. Many are studying in top 20 and top 50 universities in the US.
The Associate Head of School, under the direct supervision of the Head of School, is responsible for:
• Curriculum and Instruction
o Train teachers on curriculum and instruction during summer training and professional development programs throughout the year;
o Understand or be open to learning about Understanding by Design (UbD) as the philosophy of curriculum and instruction at the school;
o Review and provide feedback on teachers’ UbD unit plans and lesson plans;
o Conduct regular informal observations for and provide teaching improvement feedback to
teachers, and to ensure the taught curriculum is aligned with the written curriculum;
o Be responsible for the teacher evaluation system, in cooperation with the Head of School; o Organize and lead weekly teacher professional development workshops;
o Facilitate weekly staff meetings and regular student Town Hall meetings;
o Provide academic support to Guidance Counselors in tracking their students’ academic
progress
o Review and finalize quarter, semester, and end-of-year report cards;
o Run and print transcripts as requested by student counselors;
o Monitorstudentcredits;
o Use PowerSchool data to assist with course registration each year;
o Monitor teacher gradebooks and attendance to ensure teachers are following teacher and
school grading policies.
o Communicate and cooperate with American school regarding academic policies,
curriculum, and teacher evaluation;
• Human Resources
o Assist in the interview process for new teachers and collaborate with Head of School on
staffing decisions
• Admissions and Enrollment
o Provide recruitment support in the form of speeches, student, interviews, or other events
as assigned by the Head of School
• Teaching
o Teach 1-2 classes in subject-area
Requirements
- American candidate with related degrees and experience
- Teaching certificate from US State preferred but not required;
- Strong recommendations from previous supervisors
