Oriental English College international
school (OECIS) is an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) World School.
Catering to students from Grade 1 to Grade 12, OECIS provides the full IB
curriculum (Primary Years, Middle Years and the Diploma Program). OECIS
International School is looking for dynamic individuals to begin in August 2018
or in some cases sooner.
DP Coordinator Responsibilities:
Responsible for implementing the IB Diploma Programme and ensuring that our
programme meets the requirements of the International Baccalaureate:
1.Serve as a liaison between OECIS and the
IB for matters pertaining to the IB Diploma Programme
2.Serve as the community liaison for
matters pertaining to the IB Diploma Programme
3.Plan implementation of the IB Diploma
Programme
4.Monitor implementation of the IB Diploma
Programme in the classroom
5.Plan strategically the development of the
IB Diploma Programme
6.Plan for, conducts and facilitates
professional development for the teachers
7.Coordinate and supervise the work of the
CAS Coordinator, Theory of Knowledge teachers and Extended Essay supervisors
8.Facilitates effective team planning
9.Coordinate the Extended Essay process
10.Coordinate the Theory of Knowledge
programme
11.Facilitate regular meetings with Theory
of Knowledge teachers
12.Assume the role of Site-Based
Coordinator (SBC) on behalf of Pamoja Education for DP online courses
13.Coordinates IB Diploma Programme
examinations
14.Evaluates the effectiveness of the
programme and, together with the examination results, uses this information to
propose improvements.
15.Advises senior leadership on issues
pertaining to the programme
16.Uploads all relevant materials to IB
databases
17.Registers students for examinations
18.Prepare effectively for any evaluation
visits
19.Develop the forecast budget for TOK
materials, examinations, professional development and online courses
20.Teaches as required Curriculum
Development Responsible for all aspects of curriculum development, coordination
and implementation – including day-to-day support in the classroom
21.Manages course planning, course
coordination and course syllabus development
22.Works with teachers, parents, community
members and other staff to analyze, assess, and improve our educational
programmes
23.Orientates and assists new staff members
and provides opportunities for their input into the school programme
24.Assist DP teachers in developing
standards-aligned curriculum materials, including curriculum maps, lesson
planning materials, and assessments for a fully articulated k-12 curriculum
25.Ensures consistency, coherence, and
grade-level appropriateness
26.Plans and participates in ongoing
professional development (e.g., internal training and conferences, regular
workshops, the annual training plan) in collaboration with the MYP/ PYP
Coordinators and the Academic Board
27.Assists in the creation of professional
development materials for staff
28.Calls meetings of appropriate groups
(e.g. subject, grade, programme, building) to plan and execute curriculum
development and implementation
29.Contributes to and monitors internal and
external curriculum documentation ensuring it reflects the programmes and
direction of OECIS
30.Advises senior leadership on curriculum
issues, changes and emerging trends
31.Establishes links both within and
outside the school to further whole school curriculum development and to promote
OECIS
32.Incorporates Learning Group Leaders and
Assistant Principals into the curriculum development process Uses data from
curriculum planning materials and external assessments to inform curriculum
development and training
33.Links with Learning Group Leaders and
Assistant Principals on curriculum goal related aspects of appraisal and with
Principals on performance-related aspects
34.Works with the Counselor (s), University
Advisor and Admissions team to advise new students on course choices prior to entry
to the IB Diploma Programme or IB Diploma Course Programme
35.Works with the G10 students, parents and
teachers to advise on course choices prior to entry to the IB Diploma Programme
or IB Diploma Course Programme
36.Monitors students on Academic Probation
and holds meetings with students/parents/guardians as required to
assess/inform/plan progress
37.Meet regularly with the MYP and PYP
Coordinator
38.Attend and participate fully in all
Academic Board meetings
39.Member of the Examination Board responsible
for approving all internal and external assessments, practices and procedures
40.Review course scheduling annually,
including online courses and assist with Master Timetabling Assessment and
Reporting System
41.Prepare Grade 11-12 internal, mock and oral
examination timetables and G12 study week; the logistics such as room
allocations, staffing, venues
42.Prepare final G12 DP external
examinations as per IB requirements
43.In collaboration with the High School
Principal manage the G11-12 reporting system
44.In collaboration with the High School
Principal and assistance of the Assistant Principal, MYP Coordinator and
Learning Group Leaders create the yearly G11-12 reporting and assessment
schedule Ensure the Teacher Reporting Guide is current establish, communicate
and monitor the yearly reporting timelines
45.Mentor teachers in the effective use of
the reporting system
46.Proactively suggest improvements to the
reporting system
47.Provide a detailed analysis of semester
grades and overall point scores at the end of every semester reporting cycle
from Grades 11-12 to the Senior Leadership Team and all DP teaching staff
