Music Specialist and Course Designer

• Energy and drive and feel comfortable with an open palette to paint on;
  
• Deliver high quality courses and be professional at all times;
  
• Have a keen interest in Music, Dance, Drama and Musical Theatre;
  
• A love of music and feel confident and excited about designing courses alongside our Director of Performing Arts;
  
• Excellent working knowledge of a wide range of music styles such as choral, instrumental, popular music, world music etc and be able to design and teach your exiting new courses;
  
• Excellent organizational skills and communication with parents and children;
  
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and have experience of working under pressure with a positive attitude within a new organisation;
  
• Participate and support the iStage Academy Appraisal system;
  
• Excellent levels of Time Management and adhere to any daily operation times of the ISA;
  
• An understanding to be flexible on hours and days of work as the company develops.
  

Requirements

• Be able to write the back tracks and compose for musicals and showcases;
  
• Excellent organizational skills and communication with parents and children;
  
• Bachelor’s degree or above in Music and ability to play one or a few musical instrument competently, keyboard will be a plus;
  
• The skills to work with students in the 5-18 age range and adult students;
  
• Teach to an exceptional level in Music such as choir, composing etc. and Musical Theatre and be a confident, dynamic performer;
  
• Work alongside the Director of Performing Arts to devise and teach exciting and high quality music courses;
  
• Help introduce examination systems for music such as ABRSM and Rock School;
  
• Develop Combined Arts performances such as Musical Theatre Productions;
  
• Work closely on Musical Theatre with the Director of Performing Arts;
  
• Help promote a range of outstanding performance opportunities for the Academy in the 3-18 age range and adult courses;
  
• Participate in initiative curriculum development and advising on future direction;
  
• Take responsibility for supervision of music performance facilities and ensure a lively, safe and vibrant working environment;
  
• Assist with sourcing and purchasing music and instruments/equipment;
  
• Assist in managing music related resources and visiting instrumental teachers alongside the Director of Performing Arts;
  
• Advise and assist with the publicity and promotion of the Academy and co-ordinate any public performances and examinations;
  
• Help co-ordinate and deliver satellite courses in outside venues.
