MYP Design Teacher

Report: Principal
Support: Vice Principal and Program coordinator

• This is a full-time position for a teacher to teach MYP Design, with the possibility of some PYP STEAM classes in addition. The schedule load will likely be between 20 and 24 classes (50 minutes each) per week.
  

• The teacher will be expected to create and deliver imaginative and wide-ranging units in accordance with the requirements of the MYP.
  

•  The teacher will also serve as in additional capacity as needed, for example as an Extended Essay supervisor, Personal Project supervisor, and CAS project supervisor.
  

• The teacher will work collaboratively with the other staff to implement the various policies of the school.
  

• The teacher will complete the necessary and ongoing professional development requirements needed to teach their subject at MYP level (and others if required)
  

• There are some supervision duties required (no more than 3 per week, given the full teaching schedule, though more if the schedule is lighter), and all MYP/DP teachers are also mentors to small groups of students.

   • Bachelor of Education or higher, with related major.
     

   • Hold a valid teaching license from a state licensing board or Education Department.
     

   • Minimum 2 years’ verifiable subject teaching experience in K-12 school.
     

   • Fluency in English speaking and writing
