Job Description

Beijing Xin Fuxue International Academy is looking for outstanding Computer Science Teacher teachers who are motivated and passionate about teaching young learners. For XFA this means teachers are fully committed and through their teachings provide our students with the skills and values that they will need to achieve success and allow them to succeed in life.


Position Title: Secondary School Computer Science Teacher
Main Teaching Subject(s): 
One of the following science disciplines: Computer Science
Date of Commencement:  August 2021
Contract Duration: One year


Responsibilities:

As a middle school teacher, you'll need to:

  •   prepare and deliver lessons to a range of classes of different ages and abilities

  •   mark work, give appropriate feedback and maintain records of pupils' progress

    and development

  •   research new topic areas, maintaining up-to-date subject knowledge, and devise

    and write new curriculum materials

  •   prepare pupils for external examinations

  •   manage pupil behaviour in the classroom and on school premises, and apply

    appropriate and effective measures in cases of misbehaviour

  •   undertake pastoral duties, such as taking on the role of homeroom teacher, and

    supporting pupils on an individual basis through academic or personal difficulties

  •   communicate with parents and carers over pupils' progress and participate in

    departmental meetings, parents' evenings and whole-school training events

  •   participate in and organise extracurricular activities, such as elective programmes, outings, social activities, school concerts and sporting events

  •   undergo regular observations and participate in regular in-service training as part of continuing professional development (CPD).

  •   lesson preparation and collaborative planning;

  •   assessment of / for students’ learning;

  •   class decoration

  •   contribute your expertise in a committee

  •   supervising students during night study

  •   participate in external accreditation exercise;

  •   participate in weekend student recruitment activities (At least one Saturday or

    Sunday a month for not more than 8 weekends a year.);

  •   participate in the schools assembly programs

  •   other tasks assigned by the school during official work hours



Requirements

A teacher will need to hold a bachelor’s degree with a teacher’s certification and have at least 2 years’ experience teaching in your home country school or in a reputable Chinese International School. We are looking for teachers who are excellent communicators and work well with colleagues, students, parents, technology and change. We also expect our teachers to be well organized; have a good sense of humor and possess a desire to develop opportunities for students and teachers both in and out of the classroom. In all, we are looking for teachers to be enthusiastic and passionate about teaching young children and be able to demonstrate a genuine care for the individual students.

Essential:
  •   Degree in Education or Related Teaching Subject

  •   A teaching license recognized by home country’s education ministry

  •   Familiar with IGCSE syllabus and IB MYP concept-based teaching methodology.

  •   At least 2 years of teaching experience in the teaching subject applied for

  •   Homeroom teacher experience

  •   Track record of students’ academic results for IGCSE
