Secondary School Principal

LOCSS (Lanzhou Oriental Canada Secondary School) is a Canada, British Columbia (BC) Ministry of Education, inspected and approved BC Offshore School. LOCSS enrolls 160 students, in Grades 10, 11 and 12, and is housed in a host Chinese private school that enrolls 3,500 students in Grades 7-12. The association with the larger school provides LOCSS with access to many large school facilities. LOCSS is annually visited and certified, by BC Ministry of Education Inspectors, who prepare a public Inspection Report. We teach the BC Curriculum exclusively. English is the language of instruction and the language of the school.

Lanzhou is an historical community and modern city, on the Silk Road and on the banks of the Yellow River.

We are seeking a Principal who is available by August 17, 2018 through to June 30, 2019 – (may be extended by mutual agreement), to work collaboratively / cooperatively with our high energy and professional staff: to lead and shape our school and student success. Candidates should have experience leading teachers to create a positive, vibrant challenging and successful learning environment, where the priority is student success and students enjoy attending school. The successful candidate must understand the needs of students and parents and work flexibly with teachers to achieve student success.

4.       Student Level: Gr. 9, Gr. 10, Gr. 11, Gr. 12

Requirements

1.       Required Certificates: Teaching Credential/License

2.       Education Required: Bachelor

3.       Minimum Teaching Experience: 1 Year
