Job Description

Job Summary & Responsibilities

At LearningLeaders, we believe that everyone has the right to be heard, respected, and understood. We’ve developed a systematic approach to empower our learners through fourteen different public speaking and debate courses offered in our LearningCenters here in Shanghai. Long-term, we’ll create a virtual-reality-based platform and two-sided marketplace that link our world class coaches to learners all over the globe.


The Senior Director of Curriculum Implementation is a competitive educator who strives to improve learning experiences for both our learners and team members. If this sounds like you, your chief responsibilities will be to:

  • Coach 6-8 debate and public speaking courses per week (12 – 16 hours of coaching)

  • Evaluate, revise, and implement curricula for LearningLeaders core disciplines:

    public speaking, debate, drama, and critical reasoning

  • Create new training lesson plans and improve existing curriculum to ensure high

    quality coaching by all the LearningLeaders coaches

  • Coordinate completion for all activities created for LearningLeaders lessons

  • Manage the Curriculum Implementation unit

    In addition to coaching responsibilities, you will develop your leadership, project management, and intercultural communication skills through initiating new ventures within LearningLeaders. Examples of recent successful initiatives include:

  • Competitions: Debaters working with LearningLeaders coaches were selected to be on WSDC Team China. Teams working with LearningLeaders won 5 out of 6 Chinese National Debate Championships.

  • Event Management: Hosting debate tournaments, community service events, public speaking training sessions and forums

  • Partnership Opportunities:
    o LearningLeaders Summer Camp 2016 with the Yale Law School
    o LearningLeaders Summer Camp 2017 with University of North Carolina,

    NYU Shanghai, and a New York Times Journalist 


Requirements

  1. Above all, you demonstrate initiative, integrity, and the desire to inspire. You are the team member we are looking for if you possess:

    • Teamwork

    • Passionate curiosity and a love of learning

    • Ability to act with initiative

    • Flexibility and adaptability to new environments

    • Quick wit and a sense of humor

    • Ten or more years of teaching experience in either a private school, public school,

      or a private enrichment education academy

    • Four or more years of management experience

    • Outstanding linguistic capabilities, both in writing and the spoken word

    • Experience designing student evaluation systems and curriculum

    • Master’s or Ph.D degree in Education or a related field

    • Public speaking and/or debate coaching experience a plus
