09 UK Expands HPI Visa Eligibility to Include Graduates from Top 100 Universities

10 UK Supreme Court Rules Christian-Focused Religious Education in Northern Ireland Schools Is Unlawful

The UK Supreme Court has unanimously ruled that the Christian-based religious education (RE) and collective worship taught in state-controlled schools in Northern Ireland breaches human rights law.

The court further found that the statutory right for parents to withdraw their children from RE is insufficient, since it can stigmatise children and place undue pressure on families. The judgment requires the Department of Education to reassess and revise the core RE curriculum, ensuring a more pluralistic and rights-compliant approach.
