Teachers are more likely to teach in Tier 1 cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, of which Shanghai is the majority. New Tier 1 Cities in Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, such as Hangzhou, Ningbo, Nanjing and Suzhou, are also popular destinations among teachers. Geographically, most teachers prefer southern cities to teach in.

The subjects that teachers are mainly interested teaching in are ESL for kids and young learners.
