Position Overview
The school is seeking an experienced and committed IB PYP Homeroom Teacher to join its Primary School faculty. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, inquiry-based learning aligned with the IB Primary Years Programme, demonstrate strong classroom practice, and contribute positively to a collaborative international school environment.
The role requires professionalism, commitment to contract obligations, and a student-centred approach to teaching and learning.
Teaching & Learning
· Plan, deliver, and assess inquiry-based units aligned with the IB PYP framework.
· Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment that supports academic, social, and emotional development.
· Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners, including EAL students.
· Promote student agency, critical thinking, and conceptual understanding.
Collaboration & Team Teaching
· Work closely and professionally with the Mandarin Co-Homeroom Teacher to en consistency.
· Contribute to curriculum planning, moderation, and school improvement initiatives.
Assessment & Reporting
· Use a range of ongoing (formative/summative) assessment strategies in line with IB PYP expectations.
· Maintain accurate records of student progress and learning evidence.
· Provide termly written reports and ongoing communication to parents regarding student progress, learning, and well-being.

Parent & Community Engagement
· Build positive, respectful partnerships with parents through clear and professional communication.
· Participate in parent conferences, learning showcases, and school events.
· Contribute to a strong and inclusive school community.
Professional Responsibilities
· Demonstrate high standards of professionalism, reliability, and ethical conduct.
· Participate in IB professional development, staff meetings, and school events.
· Support student well-being, safeguarding, and behaviour management.
· Undertake additional duties as reasonably assigned by school leadership.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Primary Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field.
· Recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent).
· Minimum 3 years of full-time teaching experience.
· Native or near-native proficiency in English.
· Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills.
· Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.
· Willingness and ability to honour contractual commitments.
Desirable
· Prior experience teaching the IB PYP.
· Experience working in an international preferably IBschool setting.
· Experience teaching EAL/ESL learners.
· Interest or experience in leading co-curricular or extra-curricular programmes.
· Basic spoken Mandarin is an advantage.
