Where Is Nanning

Nanning is found in Southern Guangxi within the sub-tropical region between 107°19′ - 109°38′ East Longitude and 22°12′ - 24°2′ North Latitude With a neighborhood of 293 square kilometers, it's situated within the middle of Nanning Basin through which Yongjiang River runs.

It enjoys a positive geographical location in Southwestern China, connecting the Indo-China Peninsula to the West and Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao and Hainan Province to the east, making it not only a crucial economic center along the Beibu Gulf but also a rapidly growing gateway city to Southeast Asia within the southern and southwestern parts of China.

According to Nanning statistical bulletin of 2019 on national economy and social development, at the top of 2019, the entire registered population of Nanning was 7,819,700.  

Nanning is the Zhuang autonomous region and the only open coastal city with a southern flavor in the autonomous region of China. There are 35 ethnic groups in Nanning, including Zhuang, Han, Yao, Hui, Miao, Dong and Manchu, among which Zhuang accounts for 56.3% of the total population. All people live in harmony. Their unique ethnic flavor and colorful ethnic culture have left a deep impression on tourists.

How to Get to Nanning

Nanning is an important railway hub in the southwest region. It is connected to the national trunk lines in the north, Zhanjiang and Guangzhou in the east, Qinzhou, Fangcheng and Beihai in the south, and Hanoi in the southwest.

Shipping is well developed. Shipping up can reach the Sino-Vietnamese border and going downward, it can reach Hong Kong and Macau directly.

Nanning Wuxu International Airport was officially opened for navigation in 1962 and is located in Wuxu Town, Jiangnan District, 31 kilometers away from the city center. It is the largest aviation hub in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and a gateway hub airport for ASEAN. In 2018, Nanning Airport actively built the China-Singapore Southbound Air Channel, increasing the Nanning-Sing Route from 4 to 10 per week and opening the Nanning-Moscow intercontinental route.

Teach English in Nanning, Guangxi

According to Basic data of primary and secondary schools in Nanning for the 2019-2020 school year by Nanning Education Bureau, the city has 3290 kindergartens, primary and secondary schools at all levels and types, including 1,804 kindergartens, 1,106 elementary schools, and 263 junior high, 79 regular high schools, 28 secondary vocational and technical schools, and 10 special education schools.  

International School Jobs in Nanning

According to 'Nanning City&Salary 2020 Research Report', there are about 6 international schools in Nanning. However, there are fewer job openings in international schools in recent years. Nanning No.2 High School (International Department) published one job opening in July 2020. Moreover, international schools' job opportunities may account for 7% of all foreign teachers' job opportunities. The main job category for recruitment is the ESL teacher.

Kindergarten Jobs in Nanning

According to 'Nanning City&Salary 2020 Research Report', kindergarten job opportunities account for 7% of all foreign teachers' job opportunities. The main job category for recruitment is the ESL teacher. Moreover, the branches of Nanning International Kindergartens are relatively small, and there are three kindergartens registered in the system. One of them that actively published job openings in recent years is called Great Man Nanning Meiquan International Kindergarten, which introduces foreign teachers and organizes immersive pure American language education activities so that children can learn naturally in an English environment.

Training Center Jobs in Nanning

According to 'Nanning City&Salary 2020 Research Report', two training centers have been included in TTJ. Compared to international school and kindergarten, the amount of Job opening in training centers is the largest. Training centers job opportunities may account for 86% of all foreign teachers' job opportunities. The main job category for recruitment is the ESL teacher.

How Much Do You Get Paid to Teach in Nanning?

Salaries range based on the education attained, years of teaching experience, demonstrated skills, additional certifications, etc.

According to 'Nanning City&Salary 2020 Research Report', the average monthly basic salary of training centers in Nanning is the highest among the three school categories.

Training center jobs pay around ¥16,119 ($2,302) a month, and the average maximum monthly salary reaches ¥18,375 ($2,624). On the high end of the pay scale, an ESL Teacher can be paid up to ¥21,000 ($3,000) a month.  

Kindergartens and other early childhood education jobs pay lower than these other centers, with pay ranges in the ¥12,000 ($1,714) - ¥16,000 ($2,885) a month.

On the low end of the scale, one ESL teacher at a public school pays around ¥7,000 ($1,000) a month for a freshman teacher.

Nanning ESL Job Requirements

According to 'Nanning City&Salary 2020 Research Report', ESL jobs in Nanning do not ask for applicants to be licensed teachers, but they prefer to choose those who has teaching certifications. These jobs pay more attention to the candidate's entry degree. Almost all positions look for candidates with a bachelor's degree.

Moreover, most training centers tend to select entry-level teachers who have 1-2 years of teaching experience. The international school look for teachers who must be an English-native speakers. More than half of training centers need English-native speakers. However, kindergartens do not have too many requirements in these areas.
