Curriculum Developer

Beijing Foreign Studies University, or BFSU, is a prestigious university in China under the direct leadership of the Chinese Ministry of Education. 

At present, BFSU is one of China’s oldest language universities，teaching the biggest number of languages and offering education at different levels.

Job  Description

You will be teaching 4-13 year olds with a maximum 12 students per class. Your working time will be Weds – Fri 1pm – 7pm (use the morning to relax or explore the city) and Sat - Sun 9am-6pm, Mon and Tues are your free days. 

Start date: ASAP and throughout the year.

You will be involved in; 

1. Curriculum design and lesson planning 

If necessary, help the academic team to improve or design course curriculum. Each course starts with a complete curriculum. 

Each session has a complete lesson plan (please see the lesson plan templates) for both the teachers and the students. The student version should be uploaded to the platform at least one day before the session. 

Conduct quizzes, tests, exams according to the curriculum. 

Report students' scores to the administrator on time.  

Complete mid-term and end-term student evaluation on time. 

Fill out teaching process record, and give it to the administrator after every session； 

Keep an attendance record on the students' learning passports.  

Assign the suitable homework according to the syllabus, correct and comment the homework in time.               

Keep the administrators, parents and teaching assistant informed of any problems or misbehaviour of the students. 

Communicate with teaching assistant in time to make sure the class begins and ends successfully. 

Conduct one-to-one parent meeting at least twice a term.  

Keep a record of students' after-class activities and teacher-parent communication face-to-face, via telephone, email, etc. 

Participate in and contribute to weekly academic workshop.  

Join research projects, local symposiums and professional training activities. 

Contribute innovative ideas concerning the development of the school; play key roles in academic team work and projects; bring new projects or courses to school; etc.   

Requirements

• Native English speakers 
  
• Bachelor’s degree or above 
  
• Clean criminal background 
  
• Fulfills at least one of the following three requirements:
  

Major in Education for their Bachelor’s Degree or above; 

Have at least two years of teaching experience since graduation of college; 

Have obtained Teaching Certificates like Educator Certificate, TESOL, TEFL, CELTA, DELTA, etc. (with at least 120 hours of training)
