We need a Head of STEM who wants to be part of this future

The primary responsibility of the Head of STEM is to deliver and promote a strong STEM program within all sub-schools and to the wider community.

General
The Head of STEM in conjunction with the relevant stem coordinators across each sub-school and the International Principal will develop a plan to
implement systems and processes and support students in undertaking stem programs.

Specifically, the Head of STEM will be primarily responsible for curriculum development, resource management and coordination of STEM learning
centres, programs and activities across the Junior and Senior schools.

Key Responsibilities
• To assist school leaders in monitoring the quality of STEM program across sub-schools
• To further develop the whole school STEM program.
• Work effectively with the Junior School and Senior School leadership teams to ensure smooth running of the STEM program.
• General management of STEM program, including regular communication to the teaching staff across each of the sub-schools.
• Lead the development of innovative, cross-disciplinary problem-solving focused STEM programs that supports and enhances the existing classroom curriculum of Primary School, Middle School and Year 10 in Senior School.
• Oversee and work collaboratively with STEM coordinators to develop a cohesive program of activities across sub-schools.
• Plan and oversee the professional learning program and opportunities of all staff involved in the STEM program.
• Promote STEM in the school community via STEM events, community newsletters, WeChat articles and presentations to key stake holders.
• Organise and oversee STEM competitions and excursion programs.
• To source, develop and communicate relevant STEM information to students, staff, and parents in an effective and timely manner, including PPT presentations and academic extension activities.
• To develop, administer and communicate a calendar of STEM programs, including external camps and competitions.
• Oversee the STEM Astronomy program.
• Manage the STEM resources in the school library.
• Coordinate the resourcing and purchasing of equipment, general supplies and resources that are required to support the STEM programs.
• Liaise closely with the Head of Science and Head of Mathematics to ensure effective STEM teaching strategies are being utilised within their departments.
• Introduce a GIRLS in SCIENCE & MATHS Program within the Middle School
• Develop connections with other STEM school programs.

Requirements

English Native speakers
Bachelor degree above
Major: Education or teaching subject relevant
Age:25-50 years old
Teaching experience: at least 2 years or above
Holding teaching license

• Enthusiastic and conscientious.
• Demonstrated knowledge and at least two (2) years’ experience in teaching
at a primary school level.
• Experience preferred with “STEM” and Physics teaching background.
• Ability to live within a foreign country for an extended period.
• Ability to form a rapport with students and build collaborative working
relationships.
• Good verbal, written and inter-personal communication skills.
• Sensitivity to the requirements of working in an international setting with a
number of non-English speaking families and colleagues.

General Requirements
• The successful candidate will be expected to support the vision and ethos of the school.
• Staff must ensure that all decisions, pertaining to their role at Haileybury, are made in line with legislations and Haileybury policies and procedures as set out in the staff code of conduct and associated policies.

Salary based on qualifications and experience. The full package includes accommodation (2-bedroom apartment), comprehensive medical insurance, onboard costs.

-2 years contract
-30k-40k/Month for basic salary
-Full pay salary during summer and winter holidays
-Apartment provided outside of the school
-Holidays:October National Day (one week), Winter Break (three weeks in January and February), Mid Semester vacation (one week around April and one week around December) and Summer Break (six weeks in July and August)
-Working visa provided
