OKiKi China is a leading early childhood education institution in China. Our campuses locate in Shanghai Pudong, Xuhui, Putuo, Zhejiang province, Jiangsu province and other cities in China. We have a team of top expert professionals in China, with both international and local members.The role of the Substitute Teacher is to:
-Working hours: Monday to Friday 8am-5pm
-Age of students: 2-6 years old
-Contract length: 1-3 years
-Cover other teachers classes at the campuses in the event that a teacher is off sick or on holiday. If no teacher is off at the campus, the sub teacher will be arrange to complete other work like assisting in the smaller classes, do decoration or curriculum work
-Teach half the kids an English class in the morning while one of the Chinese teachers is teaching the other half Chinese, and in the afternoon we swap
-The class will last from 20 to 30 minutes depending on the age group. On top of this we give the children a phonics class (about 20-30 minutes each day). The rest of the time we are in the class with the kids playing with them, doing sports etc.
-Teachers are given an outline of the topics we teach and teachers will be given the teaching material for the class
-In each class there are 2 Chinese teachers, an English teacher and a child care assistant. We have 20-35 kids in a class depending on the age group
