Job Description

Thank you for your interest in TGA! Located just outside of Tianjin in the People’s Republic of China, our school was established in 1995 by the Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area (TEDA) government to support the families of the international business community.

TGA offers early childhood, primary and secondary educational programs, including a wide range of Advanced Placement (AP) offerings, to children of foreign and local families in the area. Our U.S.-oriented curricula incorporates internationally-recognized learning standards, and academic core instruction is integrated with our Core Values, ensuring that our mission-driven program leads to well-rounded learners. We offer wide variety of extracurricular programs, clubs and activities, and our interscholastic athletic program runs year-round. Although Chinese language and culture are incorporated into our curricula, English is our primary medium of instruction.

We have 40 foreign teachers on our staff. Their average tenure is 4 years. We experience about 20% foreign staff turnover each year. Our teachers come from all over the world.

TEDA is a “new city” by Chinese standards, just 35 years old. Part of the Binhai district, it is near the international shipping port, and is characterized by wide avenues, plenty of green space, modern buildings, western-style malls and stores, international restaurants and cafes, clinics and hospitals. Western food and groceries are readily available, and most residences, shops and TGA are located within 3 kilometers of each other. Rental bikes and taxis are cheap and plentiful, and most destinations are a short walk or ride away.
