Primary School Teacher

We are looking for an Elementary School Teacher in SHENZHEN, China starting from August 2019.

Maple Leaf International Academy-Shenzhen is affiliated with China Maple Leaf Educational Systems. It is the first campus of Maple Leaf Education in Shenzhen and Guangdong Province. The school offers elementary, middle, and high school education, with a capacity for 1,500 students.

MLIA-Shenzhen is the most internationalized and high-end campus among all Maple Leaf schools. Class size is small (20-25 students/class) to meet students’ individual needs. National curriculum is offered during elementary and middle school stages, while English education is delivered through the whole process. Foreign teachers and Chinese teachers carry out Teaching and management of class together. High school provides English-Chinese bilingual and Canadian-Chinese dual degree education, with more choices of AP courses and high-end clubs offered to prepare students will for post-secondary studies overseas.

Curriculum information

Responsibilities

• Teaching established curriculum to students: English/Math/Science/etc. mainly English to students from Grade one to Grade six
  
• Weekly teaching hours: 16 hours/week
  
• Maintaining regular office hours (34 hours /week)
  
• Evaluating student’s progress and providing ongoing guidance for improvement
  
• Participating in social activities with students organized by the school 
  
• Improving student kills in listening, speaking, reading, writing and grammar
  

Requirements

• Native English speaker from UK, US, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Ireland, or South Africa
  
• Bachelor’s degree or above, majoring in English/Education or relevant fields are preferred
  
• At least 2 years of teaching experience required
  
• Recommendation letters relative to previous teaching
